Crayon Wreath For Teacher Appreciation

Teacher appreciation is among us and there are thousands of creative gift ideas you can do for your teachers. Want to see some of the fun ideas I’ve created for you? [click here]. I actually made this crayon wreath last year and it was such a huge hit that I decided to do it again this year for Christian’s teachers. I’ve posted the original video below from last year on tik tok AND I made a new step by step tutorial that’s below too. I know some don’t think teachers enjoy this stuff, but I feel like this is better than a coffee mug or the guessing game of what you think they might want or need.

In all of this week’s DIY teacher appreciation posts I’ve continuously shared a tool that eliminates the guessing game of what to get your teachers. If you missed it [click HERE] for a printable form to ask for your Teacher’s Favorites in an easy way. I typically give this printable to our teachers at the beginning of the school year and then when I want to gift them something for a holiday or teacher appreciation week, I know exactly what they love. For teacher appreciation I think it’s always fun to give them a thoughtful and sentimental gift that they can use for years to come. Make sure whatever you create you always include your child’s name and school year so they can remember who gave it to them. Last year when I made this crayon wreath I had multiple teachers ask to order one. TikTok followers came for me in comments and told me that no teachers wanted this gift… well maybe it was just my school but EVERYONE WANTED IT!

It would be great to also include a gift card with this or something of from their “favorites list.” I seriously just love to create awesome things for our AMAZING teachers.

SUPPLIES:

  1. Monogram ring 8″
  2. Monogram ring 10″
  3. Crayons
  4. Chalkboard- Dollar Tree has the perfect size
  5. Mini composition book- found a pack of 3 from Dollar General
  6. Pencils
  7. Wood pieces (From Hobby Lobby)
  8. Hot glue gun
  9. Hot glue sticks
  10. Ribbon to create a hanger.

HOW TO:

  1. Lay out your crayons in the order you want to lay them on the wreath. I like to stick to the ROYGBIV method (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).
  2. Lay out your monogram rings with the small one inside of the large one.
  3. Begin hot glueing the crayons around the rings.
  4. Add your chalk board in the middle using hot glue.
  5. Write on the chalkboard or use a vinyl cutter to create your teacher’s name to stick on the chalkboard.
  6. Add any fun additions to the wreath.
  7. Create a hanger using a fun ribbon by tying it to the ring and create 1 big loop. This allows the teacher to hang it on their door or somewhere else in their room using any hook or nail.

Let me know if you try this DIY Crayon Wreath and what your teacher thought of it! I love seeing y’all’s creations so please tag me on social media and make sure you are following me on Instagram and TikTok to never miss a DIY.

XOXO,
