What a way to close out the year for our All-Ameri What a way to close out the year for our All-American Mascot Colby the Cougar! 🎉 Today at the final pep rally, Christian got to perform his 1st-place award-winning skit and finally do his big MASCOT reveal! It was SO fun to watch him shine. 🤩 I am bursting with pride over all the hard work he poured into this season…especially bringing home that first-ever 1st Mascot championship for a brand-new junior high! 🏆 I can’t wait to see what amazing things he accomplishes next year. I am so in love with how this DIY patriotic fabric shag garland turned out. It’s the perfect statement piece for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or your next backyard barbecue. The secret to that perfect “junky” shag look? Ripping the fabric strips instead of cutting them to get those amazing frayed edges! I used a mix of thrifted denim jeans, gorgeous lace, and of course, I had to sneak in some leopard print and black-and-white checkers to give it that signature eccentric twist. Because why stick to basic fabrics when you can think outside the box and repurpose what you have? 😉 It completely transformed my mantle, but it would be just as fun draped across a porch rail or a dining room table.
