Covered Patio Process

Well.. we have been busy this week if you didn’t see in my instagram stories. But if you missed it…WE GOT A covered PATIO with the most gorgeous cedar beams I have ever seen!!! So let’s take a trip down memory lane on this fun little journey!!! HERE IS WHERE WE STARTED.. this is actually the listing photo for our house.

So obviously first we needed some concrete.. because our 10×10 slab wasn’t going to cut it. So we had a local company come out and tear up the previous slab and build a new. Our new slab is 13×20. It is literally the width of our living room and bedroom(those are 2 windows in the back there).. she is HUGE!

Now that we have our blank slate or slab whatever you want to call it… TIME FOR THE COVERED PATIO… THE REAL FUN PART!!! So we called a few companies out to get quotes and we were mind blown with the quotes we received. The cheapest quote being 17k… that’s a no from me! DAD TO THE RESCUE! So I called my dad who seems to have a guy for everything (he is in construction industry.. just hate to bother him) and big shocker he had someone he recommended. So my dad’s guy came out and quoted us and without hesitation the minute we received his quote we responded.. “when can we start”! He was under half of all the other quotes we received. MIND BLOWN! So if you live in the Houston area.. let me know and I will give you Tony’s information. I hate to tell you our final exact number only because I don’t know if I got a special deal since he knows my dad. But I will tell you this… he told me he will beat any competitor… so just keep that in mind. It only took 6 days for him and his helper to throw this beauty up!!! I MEAN WHAT THE WHAT! So let’s take a trip down memory lane on our 6 day journey.

Day #1-

He started with the actual FRAME.

DAY #2- He started adding the cross beams for the roof. (don’t really know technically the name for that). You can see it taking shape now though. Look at the height too. It’s almost as high as my actually house! INSANE! SO IN LOVE!

DAY #3: THE UPPER FRAME IS BUILT. Something we were all mind blown with is he had only 4 2×4 holding this massive and I imagine VERY heavy structure. But clearly he knows what he is doing.

DAY #4: I mean what a difference between these 2 days!!!! It is taking shape now for sure! AND LOOK AT THOSE GORGEOUS BEAMS!!!

DAY #5: They did electrical and honestly not sure what else. We are going to have 2 lights on each side of the points and a drop down fan in the. middle

DAY #6: FINAL DAY!!! LOOK HOW GORGEOUS SHE IS!!! We added pine tongue and grove in the under neath and she is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait for you to see what we do with it.

NOW… TIME FOR US TO DO OUR PART… PAINT, STAINE AND SEAL! First thing husband did was seal all the cracks with the new hardy plank. So he caulked all the seams.

THEN SUPER SUPER FUN PART.. THE PAINTING! We have basically had a paint party all weekend. Husband loves the roller and I love to use the brush!

HERE IS WHERE WE ENDED SUNDAY NIGHT!!! We painted the hardy plank and finished working on painting the back of the house!!!

Thanks for checking out our beautiful patio! If you have any questions please let me know! We should have a roof next week and I CANNOT WAIT to start decorating!!! I hope y’all have a wonderful week!

Love,

Ashton
