Date Night-Summer Nights

With all the chaos in the world there hasn’t been a lot of “date night opportunities” and with all the at home time with the kids there definitely hasn’t been a lot of “alone” time. Soooo… time to improvise.

I was desperate for some alone and quality quiet time with my husband so I decided to create an “At Home Date Night”. It went so well and my husband loved it so much …I have since decided to make it a monthly thing. I am actually super excited about coming up with different date night ideas each month and finding more opportunities to spend quality time with my him.

So, originally I was going to keep it super simple and just do romantic candle light dinner outside but I remembered a comment my husband said in the earlier week. He had seen me painting a canvas and he made a comment that he would like to paint with me. So I decided to create an at home painting night with the hubby.

I searched on pinterest for inspiration and couldn’t find much of anything, so I had to get creative. This can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be.

I set it up outside, so we enjoyed some cool weather (well like low 90s, lets be real its Texas in the summer). And turned on some love tunes and turned on outdoor lights, lit some candles and we just enjoyed each others company with a paint brush and yummy snacks.

I bought these adorable painting easels and the canvas curbside from Michaels and added some floor pillows for some comfort. I just used a cheap rug I bought from dirt cheap for literally $5 to lay on the ground but you could totally use a blanket. I just didn’t want to sit on the crazy in my dress and honestly honestly I feel like it just created a more cozy vibe.

I bought some fresh Red roses from HEB, because whats a romantic night without some fresh roses. I made us a yummy charcuterie board with our favorites to enjoy with we painted our hearts out. And of course my goodwill brass candlesticks to finalize the romantic touches.
