HAIR WAVES TUTORIAL (VIDEO)

Well, your girl was influenced. I’ve been seeing it all over the internet….everyone is using these tools to create deep “waves” in their hair. [DEEP WAVER LINKED] It’s basically a mix between a crimper and curls. I’m not usually one to jump in on “trends,” but I’m here for it and I love it. I think because the look is so different and we have been seeing the basic girls for years now and. This is something new! It reminds me of when you take your hair out of a braid but like 10x more enhanced and volumized.

I was very intimidated by this tool, but it’s honestly very simple. One of my favorite things about it is that if I use it in my hair on Monday my curls will stay in my hair ALL WEEK! It only takes about 20 minutes to do and it’s such a beautiful look. One thing you want to make sure you do is apply a heat protectant before applying any heat to your hair. I promise… you need to do this to prevent damaged hair. I’ve linked some of my favorites here. [HEAT PROTECTANT]. All of these I have used in the past and I love them all.

What else do I love? A good history lesson. I Googled “when did hair curling start” and this is what I found: “Hair curling methods began in 1500 B.C. During that time, the ancient Egyptians would wrap their hair around wooden sticks. Afterward, they will use the heat of the sun to set the curls. Aside from the ancient Egyptians, the ancient Greeks also used a hair curling tool known as the calamistrum.” (Source: vivaglammagazine.com)

Below I have created a full tutorial on how I “curl my hair with the deep waver”. Let me know if you have any questions and what you think about the waves. I think this is fun for summer too because it’s like those beachy summer waves. What tutorial would you like to see next?
