Festive Fun x Granny Camp: Valentine’s Day

If you’ve ever wanted to step out of your everyday routine, try something creative, and spend a few hours laughing with women who feel like instant friends, then a Festive Fun event x Granny Camp is exactly that kind of magic.
This wasn’t just another craft night. This was an experience built around connection, creativity, and giving yourself permission to do something just for you.
Hosted at the beautiful Granny Camp space in Conroe, Texas, our Galentine’s workshop brought together women from all walks of life to create, learn new skills, and celebrate friendship. With four interactive DIY stations, local sponsors, floral design by Carter’s Florist & Nursery in Conroe, and the most joyful energy in the room, it was one of those nights you wish you could bottle up and relive.

What Is Festive Fun x Granny Camp?
Festive Fun is my heart project: monthly creative “Festive” experiences designed to help women step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and reconnect with themselves through creativity and community.
Life gets busy. We’re in mom-mode, work-mode, survival-mode. These workshops are an intentional pause….a chance to be playful, creative, and present.
Partnering with Granny Camp gives these events the perfect cozy-meets-creative setting. Granny Camp is a space that feels like stepping into your creative grandmother’s house…warm, welcoming, nostalgic, and full of possibility. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, create, and stay awhile.
Our Galentine’s Day event was the first of many Festive Fun × Granny Camp monthly workshops, and it set the tone for everything these experiences are meant to be.

Galentine’s Day Workshop Recap: Four Creative Stations, One Joy-Filled Night
We designed this Galentine’s event to be immersive. Instead of just one craft, guests rotated through four different DIY stations, each offering a new skill and creative outlet.
- Floral Arrangements with Carter’s Florist & Nursery in Conroe, Texas
This was the heart of the event.
Carter’s Florist & Nursery in Conroe provided the florals for our DIY floral arrangement station, and they truly showed up in the most generous, beautiful way. Guests created full floral arrangements using:
• Roses
• Baby’s breath
• Greenery
It perfectly captured the spirit of Festive Fun:
Trying something new, even if you’re not “good” at it yet.
Each arrangement was styled inside vintage teacups, which made the final pieces feel romantic, whimsical, and one-of-a-kind.
This station gave everyone the chance to:
• Learn the basics of floral arranging
• Play with color and texture
• Create something they could take home and display
Many guests shared that they had never made a floral arrangement before and were shocked at how empowering it felt to walk away with something so beautiful.
If you’re in the Conroe or Montgomery County area and looking for a florist who truly understands both beauty and community, Carter’s Florist & Nursery is a local gem. Their florals elevated this event in a way that photos truly don’t even capture.

2. DIY Valentine’s Day Cards (Paper Crafting Station)
Our card-making station let guests slow down and get intentional with creativity. From cutting and layering paper to adding personal messages, this station reminded everyone how meaningful handmade cards can be.
For many women, this was the first time in years they had sat down to paper craft. Watching people light up as they realized, “Oh wait, I actually love this,” was one of my favorite parts of the night.

3. Trucker Hat Bar with Handmade Crocheted Hearts by Miss Peggy
This station was equal parts cute and empowering. Guests customized their own trucker hats and learned how to sew on handmade crocheted hearts created by Miss Peggy herself.
For some, this was their first time holding a needle and thread. There was something really special about watching grown women learn to sew for the first time—helping each other, laughing through crooked stitches, and leaving with something they could proudly wear.

- Painted Candlesticks DIY Station
The final station let guests paint their own candlesticks, adding personal flair with colors, patterns, and playful designs. This station was such a creative release—no rules, just vibes.
Some went bold and colorful. Others kept it soft and romantic. Every candlestick ended up being as unique as the woman who painted it.

BONUS: 📚 Blind Date With a Book: Our Favorite Galentine’s Swap
One of the most heart-melting parts of the night was our Blind Date With a Book swap—and wow, did y’all show up for this. Everyone brought a wrapped book, so no covers, no spoilers, no judging a book by its cover (literally). Just vibes, curiosity, and a little bit of bookish trust.
We turned the swap into a White Elephant–style game, which made it even more fun. Everyone drew a number, and when it was your turn, you picked a mystery book from the pile. There was laughing, playful side-eye, and a whole lot of “okay but this one looks heavy, I’m scared” energy as people tried to guess what kind of book they were about to end up with.
What I loved most was how this simple activity turned into such a conversation starter. People were comparing books, trading stories about what they love to read, and immediately bonding over shared genres and unexpected picks. It added this cozy, communal layer to the night—like a mini book club moment tucked inside a craft party.
It was equal parts chaotic and wholesome, which is honestly the exact vibe we’re going for with these Granny Camp gatherings. A little silly, a little sentimental, and a whole lot of connection.

Thoughtful Sponsors That Made the Night Extra Special

**Carter’s Florist & Nursery – Conroe, TX
We cannot thank Carter’s Florist & Nursery enough for providing the stunning florals for our DIY arrangements. Their generosity and quality made this station one of the most memorable parts of the night. Supporting local florists like Carter’s means supporting real people who pour heart into their craft.

The sweet surprise of the night?

💕 Snacks, Sips & Sweet Treats at Granny Camp
Let’s be real…crafting is better with snacks. Actually, everything is better with snacks. One of my favorite things about hosting events at Granny Camp is that the food is never an afterthought. It’s part of the experience. From the moment guests walk in, there’s that cozy, welcoming feeling… and then they spot the snack table and immediately feel at home.
For our Galentine’s event, Granny Camp truly outdid itself with the spread. We had a mix of sweet and savory snacks that were perfect for grazing between DIY stations…because nothing kills crafting momentum like a rumbling stomach. Think cozy, nostalgic, comfort-food energy that matched the whole heart-themed, pink-and-red vibe of the night.
And the star of the drink station? Our festive signature drink: Love Potion No. 9. ✨
It was cute, on-theme, and honestly just made everything feel more fun. There’s something about holding a themed drink while you’re crafting with your friends that makes the night feel extra special—like you’re not just attending an event, you’re in the experience.
This is one of the things I love most about Granny Camp events: they feel intentional. The food and drinks aren’t just fuel—they’re part of the memory. People linger longer, chat more, and feel more connected when there’s something warm, sweet, and festive to enjoy together.

Why These Events Matter: Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
At the heart of every Festive Fun workshop is a simple mission:
To help women step out of their everyday routine and into something creative, playful, and just for themselves.
At Galentine’s, women:
• Learned to sew
• Tried floral arranging
• Experimented with paper crafting
• Painted without worrying about perfection
For some, these were brand-new experiences. For others, it was a return to creativity they hadn’t made time for in years.
There’s something powerful about giving yourself permission to be a beginner again.
