DIY Colorful Spring Porch Wreath

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. It’s such a beautiful season. The beauty of Mother Nature coming back to life from winter is breathtaking to me. Spring is also such a fun season. There are so many things to do in spring and so many ways to decorate because it’s such a bright and colorful season. One of the ways that I add a splash of Spring to our home is with a DIY Colorful Spring Porch Wreath. Every year I create new wreath since the front door the first thing someones sees when they come to your house and what the family sees when they get home. I aim to make my front door inviting and festive for every season!

Now, honestly you could probably create this wreath yourself from scratch, but I had trouble finding this oversized wreath size (26″) in my local crafting stores. Not to mention it would probably cost just as much money to buy all the items to DIY this size wreath. I found this wreath at Target, Wildflower Wreath White by Studio McGee, and I instantly fell in love with it. I do personally love the way it looked out of the box, but in true Ashton fashion I had to add a little splash of something. I found some pink florals at AT HOME (off topic but WHY did they change the damn name of the store from Garden Ridge?). These are the perfect addition to this wreath! SO LET’S GET TO CRAFTING and give her a makeover!

SUPPLIES:

  1. WREATH
  2. Wire cutters
  3. FLORAL STEMS – Large pink floralsSmall pink picks
  4. Command Hooks OR Wreath Hanger

HOW TO:

  1. Using wire cutters cut all your stems into individual pieces.
  2. Start adding each of the flowers into the wreath wherever your little heart desires.
  3. Hang the wreath. Take a picture. Tag me so I can share.
  4. Enjoy your new wreath every time you come home!

My new favorite way to hang a wreath (or anything) on my front door is with Command Hooks. In the past I would always use door wreath hangers, but when we installed our new wood front door I didn’t love the look of something coming down from the top of my door. So I stopped using door wreath hangers and replaced them with a simple Command Hook that can sustain the weight of the wreath or whatever it is that I’m hanging on the door. I love the simple look of the wreath without the extra hanger showing over the top, but you do you and hang your wreath however you like!

Additionally as the spring season is in full force and the school year is coming to a close, if you looking for some family fun ideas, check out my Spring bucket list [HERE].

Let me know if you create this wreath or your own spring wreath. I would love to see your creations, so please tag me on social media. Also if you have any ideas for a Spring DIY send me a message or comment on this post! Happy Spring!

xoxo
