DIY Pencil Floral Arrangement: The Ultimate Teacher Appreciation Gift

DIY-pencil-vase-teacher-appreciation-gift.jpg.

The time has come to spoil our teachers and show our appreciation for the magical people who guide our children and there is no better way than a DIY Teacher Appreciation Gift. Teacher Appreciation Week typically falls on the first full week of May. No gift is too big or too small, but I always love including a heartfelt thank-you note from my child.

Gift-giving is one of my favorite ways to express love, and this DIY Pencil Floral Arrangement takes a basic vase from drab to “teacher-style” fab! It is the ultimate creative gift for teachers, administrators, and school staff.

How to Personalize Your Teacher Gift

When gifting to your teachers you always want to make sure that you have their “FAVORITES”. If you are wondering what I mean and how can you find out what they love – I got you! [LINKED HERE]. Print this sheet out and give it to your teacher and gift giving just got A WHOLE LOT easier! Look when I like to gift… I LIKE TO GIFT. This list takes the guessing out of the gifting game! If you want to be a little extra in your gift you can include one of their favorites with one of my many DIY teacher appreciation crafts. Add a thank you card, a gift card, or any of their favorite things to your craft. I have a slight obsession with spoiling our teachers, administrators and staff.

DIY Pencil Vase Supplies

To get started on this teacher appreciation craft, you will need the following items (available at Hobby Lobby or your local craft store):

  1. PENCILS (you want non sharpened pencils)-3 cases of the 24pack if you use the glass vase below
  2. GLASS VASE
  3. HOT GLUE GUN
  4. HOT GLUE STICKS
  5. FLOWERS ( I went with faux florals so they could save them throughout the years-found them at Hobby Lobby)
  6. Ribbon- Both found at Hobby Lobby- purple dupe

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prep the Vase: Ensure your glass is clean so the hot glue adheres properly.
  2. Attach the Pencils: Apply a line of hot glue to a pencil and press it against the glass. Continue around the entire vase, keeping the ends lined up with the top and bottom edges.
  3. Arrange the Flowers: Fill your newly textured vase with your favorite faux florals.
  4. The Finishing Touch: Wrap a ribbon around the center of the pencils. This is also a great place to tuck in a gift card!
