Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Melt butter into a large pot on medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until onions have light brown edges (don’t over cook)
  3. Stir in the flour creating a roux.
  4. Temp: medium low-Add in chicken broth and stir constantly while pouring with whisk.
  5. Temp: medium low-Add in half and half and stir constantly while pouring with whisk.
  6. Cook soup on Medium and let soup come to a slow bubble- reduce heat to low
  7. Add in broccoli florets and shredded carrots and cook for about 15 minutes- stir frequently.
  8. Add in salt and cheese and stir and let cook for additional 5 minutes on low.
  9. Add in bread bowl for Panera Bread yummy extraness.
