Festive Fun: “Luck Be a Lady” March Event

In the whirlwind of daily life…the school runs, the deadlines, the endless “mental load”…it’s easy for our own creative fires to dim. We get stuck in a loop of routine, and before we know it, weeks have passed without us doing one single thing just for ourselves.

That is exactly why I created Festive Fun.

My mission is to pull everyday women out of their houses and out of their “autopilot” modes. I want to give you a reason to put on a cute outfit, try something you’ve never done before, and spark a level of joy that lasts long after the event ends. For our March event, hosted at the nostalgic and cozy Granny Camp (the perfect venue for our collaborative magic!), we leaned into the theme “Luck Be a Lady.” It wasn’t just about the glitter and the clay…it was about the community of women who decided to choose themselves for an afternoon.

The Festive Fun Mission: Your Creative “Permission Slip”

I believe creativity is a necessity, not a luxury. When you step into a Festive Fun event, you aren’t just a mom, a wife, or an employee…you are an artist. Our mission is to provide a space where you can:

  • Step out of your routine: Break the cycle of the “everyday.”
  • Meet your people: Surround yourself with women who want to see you shine.
  • Spark Joy: Remember what it feels like to make something with your own two hands.

The Signature Stations: Turning “Junk” into Art

We believe that beauty is everywhere if you have the eyes to see it. This month, we had three distinct stations designed to help every woman find her unique creative voice.

1. The “Junk Lighter” Bedazzling Bar

We started with the most humble of objects: a lighter. I call them “Junk Lighters” because they start out plain and forgotten, but they leave as high-fashion accessories. We watched as women layered rhinestones, charms, and textures, turning a 99-cent tool into a shimmering art piece. It’s amazing what happens when you give a woman a bag of embellishments and the freedom to be “extra.”

2. Hand-Sculpted Clay Matchbox Covers

To go with our lighters, we moved to the clay station. This was all about the “feel” of creation. We used air-dry clay to sculpt custom sleeves for matchboxes.

  • Embellishing: Many guests added tiny 3D clay flowers or lucky symbols.
  • Mod Podge & Paint: We decoupaged vintage patterns and added bold colors to make these feel like heirlooms.
  • The Final Touch: We added the strikers and matches, turning them into functional décor for any coffee table.

3. Vintage Vessel Candle Pouring

The sensory highlight of the day was our candle-pouring station. We curated a stunning collection of vintage crystal and cut-glass vessels. There is something so intentional about picking a vessel that has a history and filling it with a scent that represents your future. Guests poured two custom candles, choosing scents that sparked personal memories and joy.

The “Flavor of Fun”: A Feast for the Senses

We can’t talk about a Festive Fun event without talking about the spread! Because you’re stepping out of your routine, I want the food to feel like a celebration.

We didn’t just have snacks; we had a curated menu that mirrored our “Luck Be a Lady” theme. From artisanal charcuterie boards overflowing with seasonal colors to sweets that looked almost too good to eat, the food is designed to be a conversation starter. It’s about slowing down and actually tasting the moment while you chat with your neighbor.

If you love this food spread you may love these easy Charcuterie Boards that would pair great with your at home craft nights!

Here at Granny Camp we have the best Festive fun food spread to keep women fueled for all the amazing crafts they make.

Introducing: The “Legacy Tokens” (Your Festive Fun Matchbook Collection)

I’ve never liked the term “party favors.” It feels too temporary, doesn’t it? At Festive Fun, I want you to leave with something that holds a memory.

This year, I started a deep obsession with vintage matchbooks. I love that back in the day, people collected them as a “travel log”, a little cardboard story of every restaurant, hotel, and jazz club they’d ever visited. They are nostalgic, tactile, and full of history.

I’ve decided to bring that tradition to Festive Fun. From here on out, we aren’t doing favors; we are doing Legacy Tokens.

Collect Your Journey

For every event you attend, you will receive a custom-designed Festive Fun Matchbook specific to that theme.

  • The March Token: Our “Luck Be a Lady” matchbook featured green and gold vintage-inspired art.
  • Your Collection: Think of these as a “passport” of your creative growth. By the end of the year, you’ll have a bowl full of these colorful tokens, each one reminding you of a day you stepped out of your house and did something brave and beautiful for yourself.
