Mother’s Day Gift Ideas and Inspiration
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and my DMs are flooded with people asking for Mother’s Day gift ideas and inspiration. My best tip for gifting in general is to stick to the things you know about them. You can’t go wrong with getting them exactly what they like or enjoy. For instance if you notice that they are always eating at a particular restaurant or shopping at a specific store, a gift card for either of those is perfect. The KEY to gifting, especially for a holiday like Mother’s Day, is to give them a card with a thoughtful handwritten note. What truly matters, in my personal opinion, is that we take the time to add a personal touch. This will make a huge statement when creating a Mother’s Day Gift.
My mother-in-law and my mom are both the type that already have everything and if they don’t have it and want it, they typically just go and buy it. That’s why gifts for them are hard and I will just stick to getting them the things that I know they love. For my Mom this year I’m sticking to basic everyday items. Some of you may completely disagree with me on this, but I would rather get something I know they would love and enjoy than play a guessing game on what I think they might enjoy. Whether it’s Mother’s Day or any holiday.. you can’t go wrong with sticking to THEIR favorites.
I know gifting can be overwhelming to some. My husband and his family didn’t spend much time, thought or money on gifting, so it has taken me years to train him … LOL. Since he was really never taught how to gift, and still after 12 years of working with him, this man still gets anxiety when it comes to gift giving. I hate that for him and I truly hate that for anyone. Gifting should be fun, rewarding and satisfying. Knowing you are doing something thoughtful for someone else is a great feeling. I will say thought, don’t have expectations for other’s reactions because people WILL let you down. Gift giving is clearly my love language and I hope I can help others find peace from the stress of gift giving.
