I am so in love with how this DIY patriotic fabric shag garland turned out. It’s the perfect statement piece for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or your next backyard barbecue. The secret to that perfect “junky” shag look? Ripping the fabric strips instead of cutting them to get those amazing frayed edges! I used a mix of thrifted denim jeans, gorgeous lace, and of course, I had to sneak in some leopard print and black-and-white checkers to give it that signature eccentric twist. Because why stick to basic fabrics when you can think outside the box and repurpose what you have? 😉 It completely transformed my mantle, but it would be just as fun draped across a porch rail or a dining room table.
