BACK TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST
Back to school is bitter sweet! If I’m completely honest… I HATE IT! I absolutely LOVE my kids home with me. I SWEAR I’M NOT CRAZY! But I know going back to school is hard on all of us for different reasons… but I like to make the start of their day and school year special. You know how the saying goes..Just one small positive thought in the morning can brighten your whole day. I mean that kind of pertains to this RIGHT..HA. Basically staying that… I know they are dreading the back to school part… so if we have a party before school…. HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE AN AWESOME DAY.. you know what I’m saying??
So I went with a pencil colored theme. And add a bunch of funness in the room. There are so many different things you can do to make your breakfast as fun & AS SIMPLE as you want!!! YOU DO NOT have to be as EXTRA as I am.
Honestly… when it comes to decorations.. I love to use AUTHENTIC PIECES. Meaning… classroom props. Ideas: pencils or pens (in a cup).. you can even throw a ruler or 2 in there, notebook paper, books (this could be used as a riser for a plate of something on it, erasers scattered as confetti, chalk board (either at the table or in front of them with their name & a cute note), notecards (make your own flash cards or again put on as a place card), rulers. So basically anything you might have around the house that’s school related.. I think would be a PERFECT addition for your “back to school” breakfast DE-COR!
This year…I am thinking about keeping it super simple and using my school colors. There are a lot of fun themes you could do… here are a few I thought about… “Do-NUT worry about it” (basically donuts theme & a cute sign)… traditional colors with pencils & school buses (yellow and black) basically my theme last year).. apple themed (so red and black color scheme). I love the idea of rainbow themed.. like home edit does… so you can do like the crayola crayons as the focus and put them throughout. I almost did this theme but went with… my school colors.
