Stuffed Carrot Crescent Rolls

How fun is this RECIPE!?!?! This would be the perfect addition for your Easter festivities and when I tell you it’s DELICIOUS, I mean it!! If you are a cream cheese lover you are going to LOVE this one. Lately I’ve been incorporating cream cheese into everything! Actually my husband, who cannot stand cream cheese, loved this recipe. The lemon peel adds a tangy zest and the mixture of all the flavors in your mouth is amazing! This recipe was a new one to us this year and it was a huge it. When I make these DIYs for y’all I have a hard time not eating every last bit of my test batch.

I think it’s so fun to take your favorite dishes, treats or sides and add a splash of festiveness to it. Like creating “Easter themed deviled eggs” or creating a “Easter themed cheese carrot (instead of a ball)” and even “Easter bunny cinnamon rolls” are so creative and fun for the whole family. The possibilities are endless. It doesn’t take a new fancy recipe to make something festive… just take one of your favorite recipes and figure out how you can recreate it to be “Easter themed.” If you need inspiration we all know Pinterest has your back! Be sure to check my other festive recipes on Pinterest and this blog, there are many to choose from.

Another thing you could do is mix your favorite recipes together. For example, with this Stuffed Carrot Crescent Roll recipe you could substitute the inside mixture with different things like chicken salad or even egg salad. Both of those you eat with bread.. and this is bread. I’m genius I know! HA!

If you have been following along for awhile or if you have tried any of my recipes, you might have gathered that one thing I love is FLAVOR. I’m not a bland girl. Ya girl… LOVESSS some flavor! This one is flavorful.

A little tip for this recipe…. When creating the “carrots” you have 2 options for bread. You can use the pre-made crescent rolls or you could buy the dough sheet. If you use the dough sheet, you will roll it out and use a pizza cutter to create long strips. I will tell you the first time I made this I went with the pre-made croissant rolls but next time I will use the dough sheet. I feel like with the dough sheet I could have more control with the shape when making the the carrots. The pre-made crescent rolls were hard to work with and I don’t think they look as realistic.

Let me know if you try the recipe & what you think about it! Always tag me in your creations! I love to see y’alls unique take on my recipes and would love to share on INSTAGRAM!

Description

Carrot shaped crescent roll appetizer with a flavorful cream cheese filling.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven per instructions on choice of dough. Unroll dough on work surface; if using crescent rolls, press seams to seal at the bottom. Use pizza cutter or knife to cut dough lengthwise into 8 (1-inch) strips.
  2. Roll pieces of foil into cone-shaped molds. Skinny on bottom and thicker at the end.
  3. Wrap 1 strip or dough around each foil mold to create carrot shape. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to cooling rack; cool completely before removing foil molds.
  5. In medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese, parsley, chives, lemon peel and salt with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and combined. Pipe or spoon cream cheese mixture into cavity of each crescent. Top with 2 sprigs parsley for carrot top.

TIPS

  • Gently twist the foil molds to easily remove them from the crescents after removing from the oven.
  • The mixture for the inside could also be egg salad or chicken salad. Get creative!
