Festive Fun Girls Night- Crafting, Snacks & Cricut Magic

If you’re wondering what happens when you combine paint, power tools (okay, just a Cricut Maker), and 30 incredible women on a mission to have fun—welcome to Festive Fun with Ashton Sedita.

We kicked off our very first monthly craft night at the cozy and charming Buttermilk Café in Willis, Texas, and let me just say: the vibes were IMMACULATE. From disco balls to custom aprons, this night was all about stepping out of routine and into joy, laughter, and creativity.

The Heart Behind Festive Fun

Let’s get real for a second: life is busy. Between kids, work, relationships, and errands, most of us forget to do something just for us. That’s where Festive Fun comes in. These monthly craft nights (both in-person and on Zoom!) are designed to help women hit pause on the chaos and say yes to something light-hearted, relaxing, and ridiculously fun.

Whether you’re an expert crafter or someone who’s never picked up a paintbrush, these events are all about trying something new. It’s less about perfection and more about PLAY. And this first event? Let’s just say it was the perfect launch.

Cricut Made It Extra Festive 🎨

This event was proudly sponsored by Cricut, and y’all—my Cricut Maker and EasyPress Mini worked overtime to make this night magical.

✨ Each guest received a personalized apron with their name on it (because when you’re crafting, you might as well feel like an HGTV star).

✨ I also created custom tumblers using my Cricut—because hydration is key when you’re busy being fabulous.

I’ll be linking both the Cricut Maker and EasyPress Mini below for anyone who wants to recreate this event at home or host their own version. These tools make it easy to level up any party, from kids’ birthdays to girls’ nights.

The DIY Details That Made It Pop

Now let’s talk decor. I live for a good DIY, and this night was full of them.

🟡 The giant yellow “Festive Fun” arch served as the backdrop and was painted by yours truly. I used my Cricut to add the vinyl lettering, and my husband Chris helped me construct it (he’s now unofficially part of the party planning committee).

🎈The balloon garland? Done by the amazing Dazzling Displayz Event Decor—I popped their logo down below because this display was chef’s kiss.

🖌️ For paintbrush holders, I got a little creative: I glued painted cassette tapes around mason jars to create custom vases. Yes, they were hot pink. Yes, they were adorable. Yes, I thrifted the tapes.

🪴 Each guest got a terra cotta planter, and we dove into our inner artists with paints, brushes, and dotting tools. If you’ve never decorated a pot with disco flair while munching on brie—you’re missing out.

Setting the Table: Thrifted + Thoughtful

I wanted this setup to feel curated but cozy, and it turned out SO dreamy. Here’s a breakdown of what went into our tablescape:

💐 Florals were from Michael’s spring sale (hellooo 60% off), and I spray painted thrifted vases white to give them new life.

🪩 Disco balls were sourced from Five Below—because every table needs a little sparkle.

📝 I used cardstock from Hobby Lobby as placemats, topped with Dollar Tree doilies and terra cotta pots at each setting. Add in rolled thrifted cloth napkins and mini mason jars, and boom—Pinterest board come to life.

The Snacks? Charcuterie Goals.

Because we believe in feeding the soul and the stomach, the snack spread did not disappoint:

🧀 A charcuterie board piled high with cheeses, meats, crackers, and fresh fruit.

🍇 A gorgeous fruit and veggie tray with dips for days.

🍪 Homemade cookies made a surprise appearance thanks to my mom, because every party needs a sweet ending.

Everything was served on black-and-white checkered fabric I purchases from Walmart to tie into the retro-festive theme. Think: groovy meets glam.

A Shoutout to the Dream Team 💕

✨ Huge thanks to Buttermilk Café for letting us host the event in their beautiful space. If you’re local, this place is a must-visit. The vibe, the food, the people—five stars all around.

✨ A special thank you to Blushing Blonde Boutique, owned by the incredible Abby. She donated a fabulous giveaway and is just one of those souls who lights up a room. If you’re looking for something cute and affordable, her shop is where it’s at.

More Ways to Get Festive

Don’t worry if crafting isn’t your thing—we also have a book club! Whether you’re local or live across the country, you can join our monthly virtual or in-person meetups. I’ll drop a link to the Facebook group so you can hop in, connect, and get cozy with a good read.

#ad Girls’ night got a serious glow-up thanks to @Cricut ! I made personalized aprons, tumblers, and a “Festive Fun” photo wall that had everyone smiling. Cricut made it so easy to bring my vision to life too, and the best part was that everyone got to take home a piece of the magic. 💖💌 Comment GIRLS NIGHT and I’ll DM you all the links I used to make it happen!#cricutad #cricutmade #cricutvinyl
