Fall Faux Floral Arrangement

Fall is my favorite season because of all the rich colors! One of my first steps to adding fall into our home is with fall arrangements. Flower arrangements don’t have to to be complicated, it’s all just filling in the gaps.

Sooooo… let’s make a fall floral arrangement.

  1. GO SHOPPING: When shopping for the florals you always want to pick the flowers you love in my opinion..I honestly like the more realistic ones. I like to usually only pick 1-2 flower color options otherwise it can tend to look busy. Then pick your fillers… you need texture and greenery. (I love At Home florals, Michaels floral (when on sale), Hobby Lobby (when on sale), Walmart, Joanns and even Dollar Tree).
  2. PREP WORK: I use wire cutters & cut all of the stems off the base. You will have a lot of individual pieces but it is so much easier to work with especiallly when you are filling in the gaps. I find if you leave everything as a whole you really can’t place everything where you want and move things around as easily.
  3. Nowwww… there is NO right way to this. Sometimes, I start with the greenery and sometimes I will start with the flowers, just depends. I usually start with what I have the most of honestly what what is the largest. I will be honest… most use greenery first. The small fillers are what you will want to do use last, that will fill in those holes.

CREATING YOUR ARRANGEMENT:

  1. Start with your first floral. I usually pick the largest flower first.

2. Add in your 2nd floral. Don’t be afraid to bend your flowers. I bend them a little at the base of the flower. When you think of flowers they aren’t perfect, some are bent because they are heavy or just because. So I try to create a more natural look as best I can. So twist or bend .. again NO right way!

3. Add your first filler of choice. This is where you will START to fill in the empty holes. Again you can droop some/bend to make it look heavy and natural.

4. Add 2nd filler of choice. Continue to fill those holes. Don’t be afraid to move things around. You don’t want to have a group of a particular colored floral or fillers bundled together.

5. Now add your texture. Texture is not required, but for fall I just think texture helps pull your piece together.
